A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co. is home to one of the finest Junior Firefighter programs in the area. Based on Junior programs from the NVFC Junior program, youth in the community ages 16 years old to 18 years old are encouraged to join the Junior Firefighter Program. In this program, Junior Firefighters are issued all turnout gear that senior members are issued. The Juniors have certain restrictions for calls they are allowed to go on and certain training scenarios that they can be apart of. Training both in house and out of the house is available to the juniors if they are eligible to take the class.
During the school year, the junior firefighters are expected to maintain a āCā average in all classes. If they do not maintain the set average (GPA), they will be placed on leave until they can bring the grade up. Although we believe that the junior program is a very successful and vital program, we also believe that school is the main priority and must take precedence over the fire department.
If you or your child is interested in joining the department on a Junior Firefighter status, please stop by the firehouse at 37 Walnut St between the hours of 7pm and 10pm on Thursdays, or by appointment any other day. You can also call the firehouse, at (814) 774-8218 to inquire about information please follow the link below.
